What Is AINP?

To attract more immigrants, Government of Alberta and Government of Canada's department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) launched Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). The sole purpose of AINP is to invite and retain skilled professionals in order to enhance the economic growth of the province.
Government of Alberta will start accepting applications from January 2018, wherein interested candidates along with their spouse/common-law partner and dependent children can apply for the state nomination. Once they got nominated by the Government of Alberta, they can apply for permanent residence through IRCC as a provincial nominee. IRCC will make the final decision on all permanent resident applications.
AINP is categorised into 3 main streams:
  1. The Strategic Recruitment Stream
  2. The Employer-Driven Stream
  3. The Self-employed Farmer Stream
2 new streams to be launched in January 2018:
  1. Alberta Opportunity Stream
